Food Allergy & Dietary Accommodation Policy

Food Allergy & Dietary Accommodation Policy

Effective Date: 1st January 2026

⸻

1. Our Commitment

At Jasmine Rice, we are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and transparent dining experience for every guest. We recognize that food allergies and dietary restrictions are important health considerations, and we make reasonable efforts to accommodate allergy-related requests while maintaining food safety and operational standards.

Because our kitchen prepares a wide variety of ingredients using shared equipment, cookware, utensils, preparation areas, and cooking surfaces, certain limitations exist that guests should understand before placing an order.

⸻

2. Scope

This Policy applies to:

* Dine-in orders
* Takeout orders
* Direct restaurant delivery
* Online ordering
* Third-party delivery orders
* Catering orders, unless separate written catering terms apply

⸻

3. Common Allergens

Our kitchen regularly prepares foods that may contain or come into contact with common allergens, including but not limited to:

* Peanuts
* Tree nuts
* Shellfish
* Fish
* Soy
* Wheat
* Gluten-containing ingredients
* Eggs
* Milk and dairy products
* Sesame

Additional allergens may be present depending on seasonal ingredients, supplier changes, or menu modifications.

⸻

4. Guest Responsibility

Guests with food allergies or medically significant dietary restrictions are responsible for informing Jasmine Rice before placing an order.

Please:

* Clearly identify all food allergies before ordering.
* Inform your server or Jasmine Rice team if the allergy is medically significant.
* Ask questions if you are uncertain about any ingredient.
* Review your order upon receipt.
* Notify us immediately if you believe your order does not match your allergy request.

Dietary preferences (such as avoiding certain ingredients for personal, religious, or lifestyle reasons) differ from medically significant food allergies. Guests should clearly communicate the nature of their request so that our team can respond appropriately.

⸻

5. Allergy Disclosure Requirements

Guests with food allergies should notify Jasmine Rice before food preparation begins.

Depending on the circumstances, Management or our team may ask additional questions regarding:

* The specific allergen;
* The severity of the allergy;
* Whether cross-contact presents a medical concern; and
* Whether reasonable accommodations may be available.

Failure to disclose a food allergy before ordering may limit Jasmine Rice’s ability to accommodate the request safely.

⸻

6. Online & Third-Party Orders

Guests placing orders online should include allergy information in the designated order notes whenever available.

However, because online ordering systems and third-party delivery platforms may not always transmit special instructions in the manner intended, guests with severe or medically significant food allergies are strongly encouraged to contact Jasmine Rice directly before placing, or immediately after placing, an online order to confirm that allergy information has been received.

Jasmine Rice cannot verify or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of allergy information transmitted through third-party ordering platforms.

⸻

7. Shared Kitchen & Cross-Contact

Although Jasmine Rice follows reasonable food handling and sanitation practices, our kitchen is not an allergen-free facility.

Food is prepared using shared:

* Preparation areas;
* Cooking equipment;
* Fryers;
* Woks;
* Utensils;
* Cutting boards;
* Storage areas; and
* Serving equipment.

Accordingly, cross-contact between allergens may occur despite reasonable precautions.

For this reason, Jasmine Rice cannot guarantee that any menu item will be completely free of allergens.

⸻

8. Ingredient Transparency

We are happy to answer reasonable questions regarding menu ingredients whenever possible.

Upon request, Jasmine Rice may:

* Identify ingredients commonly used in a menu item;
* Explain standard preparation methods;
* Recommend menu options that may better accommodate certain dietary requests;
* Offer available substitutions where operationally feasible; or
* Serve sauces or condiments on the side when appropriate.

Because recipes, suppliers, and ingredient availability may change without prior notice, ingredient information should not be relied upon indefinitely.

⸻

9. Dietary Accommodations

Jasmine Rice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requests whenever operationally feasible.

Examples may include:

* Ingredient omissions;
* Ingredient substitutions;
* Vegetarian requests;
* Vegan requests;
* Gluten-conscious modifications;
* Sauce served on the side; or
* Reduced spice levels.

Certain requests, however, may not be possible due to:

* Food safety concerns;
* Ingredient availability;
* Preparation methods;
* Kitchen limitations; or
* Operational considerations.

Management reserves the right to decline any request that cannot reasonably be accommodated while maintaining food safety and food quality.

⸻

10. Staff Procedures

When a food allergy is reported, Jasmine Rice’s team will make reasonable efforts to:

* Communicate the allergy to the kitchen;
* Follow established restaurant procedures;
* Use clean utensils and gloves when appropriate;
* Minimize opportunities for cross-contact whenever reasonably possible; and
* Prepare the order using reasonable food safety practices.

Despite these efforts, Jasmine Rice cannot guarantee complete elimination of allergen cross-contact.

⸻

11. Management Discretion

Management retains reasonable discretion to determine whether an allergy-related request can be safely accommodated.

Management may decline an order when it reasonably determines that:

* Cross-contact cannot be sufficiently minimized;
* Ingredient uncertainty exists;
* The requested accommodation cannot be completed safely;
* Operational limitations prevent reliable preparation; or
* Serving the requested item could create an unreasonable food safety risk.

Such decisions are made solely to promote guest safety.

⸻

12. Emergency Situations

Guests experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction should seek immediate medical attention and contact emergency services when appropriate.

Guests are encouraged to notify Jasmine Rice as soon as reasonably possible so that Management may preserve relevant information and conduct an internal review.

⸻

13. Acknowledgement of Shared Kitchen Risks

By choosing to dine with Jasmine Rice after reviewing this Policy, guests acknowledge that food is prepared in a shared kitchen environment where allergen cross-contact cannot be completely eliminated despite reasonable precautions.

Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies should carefully consider these risks before ordering.
